Kylie Jenner has reportedly lost thousands of followers on the popular photo and video-sharing app, Instagram, just in a matter of days after she issued her support for Israel. The US reality television star and businesswoman faced intense backlash on her post and her fans did not seem delighted by her outspoken attitude about rising Israel-Palestine tensions. 

Jenner, who stands as one of the most followed users on Instagram, shared a post in solidarity with Israel on Instagram's Stories after Hamas fighters launched a surprise attack on Israel from Gaza by firing a barrage of rockets and crossing into Israeli territory. The 26-year-old received intense backlash for the post, with her followers demanding to know where she stood on the killing of the Palestinians during the drastic escalation of fighting or under decades of Israeli occupation. However, hours after she shared the post, Jenner deleted the story. 

Amid the rising tensions and the backlash she has faced, Jenner’s follower count has reportedly witnessed a small but noticeable dip, from 400 million to 399 million as of Tuesday afternoon.

As per the latest media reports around 800 Palestinians and 900 Israelis have been killed since the surprise attack by Hamas fighters was launched Saturday. Thousands of others have been critically injured.

Israel has relentlessly bombed the densely populated Gaza Strip since Saturday.

As per the officials in Gaza, the vast majority of Palestinians killed in the strikes have been civilians. Earlier this year, Jenner suffered a drop in her Instagram followers count, when users believed she had waded into the feud between Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez.
